Police complete investigation into ACT donations

Updated at 7:15 pm on 5 July 2012

Police have completed their investigation into the donations ACT leader John Banks received when he ran for the Auckland mayoralty in 2010.

Mr Banks was under pressure for several weeks in May over whether he knew that donations, declared as anonymous, were from the internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom and from Skycity.

Police say they have completed their investigation and have forwarded the file to their legal team for review.

They say that it will be two to three weeks before they can comment on the outcome, or any possible charges.
