The Government has announced that its white paper on vulnerable children will be released in October, although some submissions on the issue will be available next month.
Social Development Minister Paula Bennett says the solutions in the paper will be the most significant advance in the protection of children this country has ever seen.
She says there were nearly 10,000 public submissions, including the voices of about 2000 children and young people from hearings held around the country.
Those will be transcribed and released on 14 August along with a summary of all submissions and the full submissions of 600 community organisations.
The white paper itself will be released on 12 October.
