The Green Party says Housing New Zealand should publicly reveal the number of outstanding maintenance claims.
The corporation's response to maintenance requests has been the subject of questioning in Parliament.
Green Party MP Holly Walker says she is hearing from Housing New Zealand tenants who are waiting for an unreasonable amount of time for important maintenance to their homes.
She claims that in one case a child became ill because of the slow response of the corporation in dealing with some dampness.
Ms Walker says Housing New Zealand needs to be properly resourced so that it can carry out the insulation work and meet urgent health and safety requests.
