Justice Minister Judith Collins will this week meet a retired Canadian Supreme Court judge who has been considering a compensation claim by David Bain.
Justice Ian Binnie gave his findings to the New Zealand Government last week and Ms Collins says she will meet him before taking the matter to the Cabinet.
Mr Bain spent 13 years in prison for murdering his parents and three siblings at their Dunedin home before being acquitted at a retrial in 2009.
Ms Collins said the report is large and it is unlikely to go before the Cabinet next Monday.
