Banks back in Parliament after missing Dotcom's visit

6:47 pm on 20 September 2012

ACT Party leader John Banks is back at Parliament after being absent on Wednesday when internet millionaire Kim Dotcom paid a visit.

Mr Dotcom sat in the public gallery and watched the Opposition question the Prime Minister about donations made to Mr Banks' 2010 Auckland mayoral campaign.

Mr Dotcom has no doubt that Mr Banks knew he had made two $25,000 to the campaign.

Mr Banks declared those donations as anonymous, but police did not prosecute him over the matter.

Mr Dotcom says he believes there has been unethical behaviour from politicians over the donations issue, but he thinks it is time to move on.

Asked what he thought about Mr Dotcom's visit, Mr Banks said he did not tell him he was coming to Parliament and then joked that he was not in the House then because he was busy raising funds.
