The Government will continue to boost funding for hospices, with an extra $30 million over the next two financial years.
The funding programme introduced in 2009, Boost Hospice Care, was due to end next year.
Associate Health Minister Jo Goodhew says the extra investment has secured vital services for communities, including palliative care for the terminally ill, both in hospices and in their home.
Ms Goodhew says rolling over the funding for a further two years will give hospices financial certainty.
