Supreme Court hearing to be sought over water

The New Zealand Maori Council is to go to the Supreme Court to stop Treaty assets like water being subject to the Resource Management Act.

Spokesman Maanu Paul says Maori have never relinquished their ownership rights to water.

He told Waatea News the council will lodge writs in the Supreme Court on 27 May.
