The Green Party has announced policies it says would create jobs in the Ikaroa-Rawhiti seat.

By-election candidate Marama Davidson says she would make job creation her top priority in the electorate, if elected this Saturday.

Her jobs plan includes putting a price on carbon, which would provide incentives for trees to be planted on Maori land and create up to 3000 jobs.

As well, Ms Davidson said the Greens would promote making biofuel from waste, support environmental restoration, invest in regional transport and support eco-cultural tourism in the electorate.
