Review of Official Information Act

The Law Commission is reviewing the Official Information Act, the law under which information is made more freely available.

The first stage is an online survey, to gauge how well the law works.

The Commission says that after 25 years, the Act needs to be looked at again.

It says the political landscape has changed since the 1980s, and advances in technology have transformed the way information is managed.
