Parata believes teachers will embrace standards software

Education Minister Hekia Parata says once teachers start using national standards software, they will embrace it.

Teachers and principals threatened to boycott the Progress and Consistency Tool, or PACT, after the Government said it would be mandatory from 2015.

Ms Parata now says the tool is not mandatory but she thinks it will, in her words, mandate itself.

She says as teachers use it more and have conversations about it, they will want to have it available.
