Tackling unemployment would be Clark's priority

Former New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark says if she was in her old job right now, her priority would be tackling unemployment.

Miss Clark is taking a break from her job in New York where she leads the United Nations development programme.

She said on Sunday Morning that while New Zealand's unemployment rate is lower than some other Western countries, it's still a problem.

Miss Clark said New Zealand can't afford to be complacent, and needs to improve in areas like education and innovation.
