End bickering, say Labour party members

Labour leadership contenders say the main message they have got from rank and file party members is that they want the caucus to stop bickering and work together.

Current deputy leader Grant Robertson, New Lynn MP David Cunliffe and list MP Shane Jones are competing for the party's leadership, with the result due to be announced on Sunday.

On The Nation on TV3 on Saturday, all three agreed the party membership is tired of perceived disunity among Labour MPs.

Mr Jones says the message from members is that the caucus has to end their bickering and squabbles and focus on the voters.

Mr Robertson and Mr Cunliffe also talked about party unity being the main message from party members.
