The National Party is down 3.2 points in the latest political poll, but still leads the Labour Party by 14 points.
The 3 News Reid Research poll has National at 46.3%, compared with Labour, which is up 1.2 points to 32.2%.
The Conservatives are up 1.7 to 2.8%, still well below the 5% threshold needed to enter Parliament without an electorate seat.
The Greens are down 1.6 to 10.4%, New Zealand First is up slightly 0.3 to 4.2%.
John Key drops slightly in the preferred Prime Minister stakes to 40.9%, compared with 10.8% for Labour's leader, David Cunliffe.
The survey questioned 1000 people between 3 to 7 November, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1%.
