The Government rejects a claim by Labour that the wage gap between Australia and New Zealand is now $211 per week.
Prime Minister John Key says Labour's making up numbers again.
Labour says the Parliamentary Library has calculated the wage gap between Australia and New Zealand to be $211 per week, once adjustments for purchasing power are made. Party leader David Cunliffe said that's $90 more per week than when the National Party came to power in 2008.
But Mr Key says official statistics show that real after-tax wages in New Zealand have grown 13% since 2008, but in Australia, they've grown by 10%.
