Electoral boundaries finalised

The Electoral Commission has finalised the electoral boundaries for the next two general elections.

In Christchurch, where post-earthquake population shifts have altered the voting landscape, further changes have been made to Port Hill and Selwyn electorates, following strong objections.

The commission has confirmed the new Auckland seats of Upper Harbour and Kelston.

But proposed changes to Auckland Central, Mt Albert and Epsom have been altered after objections to an area currently within the existing Epsom electorate moving into the Mt Roskill electorate.

In Wellington, Hutt South will include all of the Western Hills and the Lower Hutt suburb Naenae will move into Rimutaka.
