A review into the way the Government sets road-user chargers will be completed early next year, says Transport Minister Annette King.
The Government agreed to look at the way charges are set after thousands of truckers protested on 4 July against an unexpected increase.
Ms King and the acting head of the Ministry of Transport met the Road Transport Forum on Tuesday. The forum represents truck drivers.
Afterwards, Ms King and forum chief executive Tony Friedlander said the review would provide greater certainty over future charges.
