National issues arts policy

The National Party has issued its policy on arts, culture and heritage, which would maintain current levels of funding to the arts.

But it wants to see the Film Commission and the Arts Council reformed, and a range of arts-related legislation reviewed.

Arts, culture and heritage spokesperson Chris Finlayson says a lot of hard policy work needs to be done.

The Government says the policy is flimsy and bereft of ideas.
