New Zealand's credibility on climate change issues risks being damaged if a select committee review on climate science goes ahead, says Green party co-leader Russel Norman.
The ACT Party has drawn up terms of reference for a select committee looking at emissions trading, which include a review of climate science.
Dr Norman said it is embarrassing that one of New Zealand's governing parties is pushing for a review of whether global warming is caused by humans or not.
Prime Minister John Key says that is only an ACT proposal, and National believes that human-induced climate change is occurring and intends to address it.
The latest set of global talks on climate change are underway Poland, discussing a new international pact to succeed the Kyoto Protocol.
