Labour's Strange seeks East Hamilton seat

Jamie Strange, a 39-year-old music teacher, has been selected to stand for Labour in Hamilton East at next year's general election.

Mr Strange 39, lives in Hamilton and teaches music at a school.

At the last election he stood for Labour in the Taupo electorate and was number 54 on the party's list.

The Hamiton East seat is held by National's David Bennett, who has been an MP since 2005.

Mr Bennett, 37th on National's party list, won it in the 2014 election by nearly 10,000 votes.
