National Library revamp spending cut

4:23 pm on 29 April 2009

The Government has almost halved the amount of money to be spent revamping the National Library.

A total of $52 million will be spent over the next four years to increase storage, fix leaks, upgrade equipment and deal with deferred maintenance.

Internal Affairs Minister Richard Worth, who is also responsible for the library, says the previous government's plan would have involved spending about $90 million.
