Greens co-leader Russel Norman has been selected as the party's candidate to contest the Mount Albert by-election.
He was the only nomination.
Dr Norman says he is not concerned about splitting the centre-left vote in the Auckland electorate.
Labour and National will choose their candidates early next week.
The by-election is on 13 June.
