Tuesday is expected to be an historic day in Parliament with the first bill by a Maori party passed into law.

Minister of Maori Affairs Pita Sharples says he expects the support of the whole House for his bill setting up the Maori Trustee in an independent capacity which is expected to have its third and final reading on Tuesday.

The Maori Party co-leader told Waatea News he hopes it is the first of others to come.
