Labour MPs take to the road

8:54 pm on 10 August 2009

Labour MPs are making a three-day road trip from Wellington to Taranaki.

MPs boarded a bus outside the Beehive on Monday morning and headed for Levin and then Wanganui. They are travelling to New Plymouth on Tuesday for an all-day caucus meeting.

Party leader Phil Goff wants Labour MPs to talk to New Zealanders from all walks of life. He says it's important to understand what people who live in provincial New Zealand are thinking.
