Political polls suggest support for New Zealand First has fallen over the past two months, but also indicate the party could still be in the position to determine the next government.

Mr Peters said he was very confident of tomorrow night's outcome.

The incumbent Northland MP, he said that while he was happy with the way he had campaigned, it had not been easy with so much attention on the two major parties.

"You can only make what you can make of it, in circumstances extraordinarily difficult, because you know what's happened here - we're in an MMP environment and we have been for 21 years - the media regard it as a First Past the Post environment and that's the difficulty.

"But there's going to be a change," Mr Peters said.

"We'll see tomorrow night who has been successful in this campaign, won't we?

"But what I'm not going to do is take the junk science that is passing for polls in this country and make decisions on this basis, I never have and I never will."
