Clear indications of Govt policy wanted by federation

Members of the Federation of Maori Authorities are hoping for some clear indications of Government policy on Friday when the Minister for the Environment addresses their annual meeting at Pipitea marae.

Chief executive Rino Tirikatene says the federation's 150 members manage more than $10 billion in assets between them, mainly in farming, forestry and fishing.

While they are in a better financial situation than many other New Zealand corporates, he says they still need certainty to run their businesses.

Waatea News reports the minister is to talk about climate change and freshwater policy.
