A political pundit predicts 2010 will be a time of reckoning for the Government.
The editor of the New Zealand Political Review, political commentator and blogger Chris Trotter, says it's likely the Government's honeymoon with the electorate since it was elected in 2008 will end with the next Budget.
Mr Trotter says that he expects the Finance Minister, Bill English, to slash government debt, and that a large number of New Zealanders will be hurt when taxes are lifted and social spending is cut.
