Finance Minister Bill English says the economy is recovering, but he warns not everyone will do as well as others.
He says the economic recovery is patchy with some industries, some regions and some people doing better than others.
He says the challenge for the Government is to ensure that the recovery is as broad-based as possible so that everyone feels they are better off.
Mr English was briefing National MPs on Tuesday on the state of the economy at their first caucus meeting of the year.
