Career diplomat Martin Welsh will take up the position of New Zealand Consul-General in Sydney in September, replacing Sarah Craig.
Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully says Mr Welsh will lead the Government's presence in Sydney, which includes trade and enterprise, customs, police, immigration and tourism.
