Maori Party MP Hone Harawira wants a promised constitutional review this year to be taken out to the nation.
Waatea News reports he has been delegated to front the issue for the party.
Mr Harawira says the party has to make sure the review gets on the road so people can talk about it and understand it.
Mr Harawira says he's optimistic a roopu put together by the Iwi Leaders Forum to work on the review will provide a useful balance to the official process.
