The minister for the new social services policy, Whanau Ora, says 130 proposals have been submitted by providers who want to take part in the programme.
The aim of Whanau Ora is for successful providers to help disadvantaged families find solutions themselves to their problems.
The minister, Tariana Turia, says the calibre of the proposals is very high. Forty per cent of them are from collectives, she says, with several proposing to deliver Whanau Ora nationwide.
The expressions of interest - which also include proposals from Pacific, disability, refugee and migrant providers - are now being assessed. Mrs Turia says she will announce the successful applicants in October.
