Applications are now open for new research and development grants, designed to boost the New Zealand's economy and the science sector.
The grants are worth $190 million over four years and are at the heart of the Government's new science policy.
Research, Science and Technology Minister Wayne Mapp says successful applicants will have a proven track record.
Companies which are awarded grants will be audited to make sure the investment is generating revenue.
A grant scheme for smaller businesses will be launched in November
