New Zealand First leader Winston Peters won't say yet which electorate he plans to stand in at next year's general election.
Mr Peters has been in Christchurch this weekend for the party's annual convention.
He says a decision to stand in his old seat of Tauranga or another electorate will be made early next year.
However, Mr Peters says the party's focus in the 2011 election is to get over the 5% threshold.
Mr Peters says the political climate is right for New Zealand First to return to Parliament.
