More health board heads to go - Labour

3:37 pm on 15 November 2010

The Labour Party says at least half a dozen more district health board chairpeople are to be stood down by Health Minister Tony Ryall.

The party's health spokesperson, Ruth Dyson, says the individuals are being replaced to make it easier for board mergers to go ahead.

It has already been confirmed that chairpeople from the Auckland, Capital and Coast and Southern boards will be replaced.

Ms Dyson says others that stand to lose their chairpeople are West Coast, Canterbury, Hutt Valley, Counties-Manukau, Lakes, Whanganui and Bay of Plenty boards.
