Poll shows support for Government continues to grow

Support for the Government continues to grow in the latest opinion poll.

A TV3 Reid Research poll released on Sunday also shows support for the Labour Party continuing to fall.

National was up almost two points to 55%, while Labour was down one point to 31%.

The Green Party was up slightly to 7%.

John Key remains the preferred prime minister on 54%.

Labour leader Phil Goff was down two points to 6.8%, only just above former prime minister Helen Clark, who has been out of politics for two years, on 5.3%.

New Zealand First leader Winston Peters polled 3.1%.

The poll surveyed 1000 voters and has a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.
