Key: expect 'unprecedented' US requests on trade

Updated at 2:00 pm on 21 February 2011

The Prime Minister is warning that New Zealand will face unprecedented requests from the United States in the TransPacific Partnership (TPP) free-trade talks.

John Key made the prediction at the opening of the United States New Zealand Partnership Forum in Christchurch on Monday, where high-level business and political delegations from both countries are meeting.

He told the audience the TPP has the potential to make some communities in both countries nervous.

But he also urged those involved to work together.
