The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is to be merged with the Ministry of Fisheries from February next year.
State Services Minister Tony Ryall says it's part of the Government's ongoing programme to improve public services and reduce duplicated and overlapping functions.
Agriculture and Forestry Minister David Carter has welcomed the decision, saying a single organisation will be more efficient and save $10 million a year.
