Labour Party leader Phil Goff says his caucus fully supports his decision not to deal with Independent MP Hone Harawira after the election.
Mr Goff has ruled out entering talks on forming a Government with Mr Harawira if the Tai Tokerau MP is re-elected this November.
Mr Harawira quit the Maori Party because of differences with his colleagues, and is considering setting up a new political party.
Mr Goff says the MP would be an unreliable coalition partner.
The party leader spoke publicly about his decision before it went to caucus on Tuesday, but Mr Goff says there was full support from his Labour colleagues.
While Mr Goff has ruled out working with Mr Harawira, he won't make the same call on the New Zealand First leader, Winston Peters.
He says that decision will wait until after the election.
Meanwhile, Hone Harawira is planning a national tour to talk to people about the possibility of setting up a new political party.
He says interest is high, and there are quality people offering to stand alongside him.
