Three family violence prevention programmes have lost their guarantee of Government funding in a redistribution of money meant for such services.
The new Family-Centred Services Fund, which will pay for programmes dealing directly with families where violence has occurred, gets an extra $8.5 million.
Associate Social Development and Employment Minister Tariana Turia says the change in funding means three existing programmes lose contracts worth $6 million.
She says they can re-apply to the fund for money.
In other changes: $2.5 million will be split among violence prevention campaigns aimed at Maori and Pasifika, including the "It's not OK" television ads and a training programme for Pacific family violence service agencies.
