The Mana Party has missed out on funding and broadcasting time for television and radio advertising during November's general election.
The party was launched at the weekend by Te Tai Tokerau MP Hone Harawira.
But to gain funding and broadcasting time, political parties must give the Electoral Commission notice of their eligibility by 17 March.
Mr Harawira says it would have been great to have received funding because the Mana Party is short on funds.
But he says he has never struggled to get media attention.
