Goff not ruling out Greens in formal coalition

9:48 pm on 11 July 2011

Labour Party leader Phil Goff is not ruling out a Green Party MP holding a finance portfolio in a Labour-led government.

Mr Goff says if Labour has the numbers to form a government after the general election on 26 November, he would expect the Greens to be a partner and in a formal coalition agreement.

After the 2005 election, Labour entered confidence and supply agreements with New Zealand First and United Future rather than the Greens.
