Parliament in urgency

10:08 pm on 16 August 2011

Parliament has gone into urgency to progress a number of government bills.

Legislation to be debated under urgency includes the Freedom Camping Bill, the Student Loan Scheme Bill, the Maori Purposes Bill and the Aquaculture Legislation Amendment Bill number three.

Also on the urgency motion is an unnamed government bill which the office of the Leader of the House says is a 'fixit' measure.

Time has been allowed for MPs to attend the Governor-General's farewell lunch at Parliament on Wednesday and for the regular parliamentary question time.
