Three people have been injured in a light plane crash north-east of Otorohanga in Waikato.
The Fire Service says the four-seater aircraft crashed near Cherry Road at 12.20pm.
Spokesperson Paul Radden says the plane appears to have overshot the runway and crashed into a ditch at a gathering of plane enthusiasts.
Three people have suffered moderate to minor injuries and specialist equipment had to be used to remove one of them from the wreckage, he says.
