A man was taken to Auckland hospital with serious injuries after his vehicle hit a barrier on Te Atatu Road at about 4.20am on Monday.
Police say he was trapped for some time.
Te Atatu Road is reduced to one lane and the police not expect the road to open before the end of rush hour. Traffic delays are expected.
