Police in Wellington are investigating an alleged sexual assault.
They say a woman in her twenties was walking near St Anthony's School in the suburb of Seatoun at about 10pm Monday night when she was grabbed from behind, dragged a short distance and sexually assaulted.
Police say they were on the scene shortly after the incident, but despite a police dog picking up a scent, the offender was not found.
They say the victim, who was traumatised by the event, has described her assailant as a dark-skinned male in his early twenties.
