Tributes at murder scene vandalised, 2 arrested

Updated at 3:09 pm on 26 June 2012

Police investigating the violent death of a Paeroa man have arrested two people after tributes left outside the shop of the victim were vandalised.

Jordan Voudouris' body was found in an alley in the town last week.

Police say flowers, balloons, cards and other items that were left outside Mr Voudouris' shop on Saturday night after staff gathered there to mark his birthday, were vandalised.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Whitehead says two local men, who are 38 and 42 years old have been charged with wilful damage and theft.

But he says there is no indication that the vandalism is linked to the homicide.
