The police say extra staff have been called in to work on a suspected homicide inquiry into the death of a man in Manurewa.
A police spokesperson says on-call staff have been called in and up to 15 officers are now on the case.
Police were called to an address in Primrose Place at 2.15am on Saturday, where a fight was taking place.
A man, aged 59, was found unconscious and CPR was done, but he was unable to be revived.
Police are now piecing together events leading up to the death.
A post mortem is to be held.
