Five men have been flown to Rotorua Hospital after receiving injuries to their arms, legs and in one case spine, at a motocross event.
A helicopter was called to the Tahorakuri Forest at 1.15pm on Saturday. It airlifted three riders to hospital.
At least one rider is reported to have suffered spinal injuries and another a dislocated shoulder.
A second helicopter was drafted in later in the afternoon after two other riders became injured.
