Police say a woman and an infant have plunged to their deaths from a hotel in central Auckland.
They say the pair fell from Auckland Harbour Oaks Hotel and Apartment complex on Gore St about 5.22pm on Wednesday.
Police say it is not yet certain what the relationship was between the woman and child.
St John Ambulance says it sent an advanced life support crew to the hotel, but the pair had fallen from a significant height and died at the scene.
It is providing support for its staff due to the traumatic nature of the callout.
Police have secured the scene in the swimming pool area of the complex and are carrying out a scene examination on Wednesday night.
The bodies will remain there for now and the scene examination is expected to continue on Thursday.
