Driver in hospital after railway incident

A truck driver was taken to Christchurch hospital with minor injuries after his truck rolled onto a railway line.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on State Highway One near Dunsandel in Canterbury, at about 7.46am on Thursday.

The truck rolled, straddling the railway line, trapping the driver in the cab.

St John Ambulance said he has minor injuries and the state highway is open again.
