Four people were trapped on Wednesday afternoon when power lines fell on their cars in Te Puke.
The Fire Service says it was called just after 3pm to McLaughlin Drive where lines had fallen on two cars.
They say the lines company turned off the power so the people could be rescued.
It's not clear why the lines fell, but wind is thought to be a factor.
